<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Matt and I went to Asheville for the weekend back in May/June. We rented a tipi where I blogged about </span><a href="http://overservedandundertall.blogspot.com/2011/04/indians-for-weekend.html"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">here.</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"> WOW! It was cool! Or should I say HOW. That's the only Indian word I know how to say so it was repeatedly said all weekend. Let's just say that the headdresses were a hit! Instead of talking about everything we did, I'm going to let the pictures talk and tell you we had a blast even if it was just the two of us!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAap_FTy4lAhtQDaWZGfxu5d_rZYKHuIUj1dVqBQi24s1fXH4PbVI0aBMFUvni-RLdNLsF_eeZ87aaSRLdSMJiKB4_2fHLo03fry_YpkmnM89F-TVEMnrtdyTC0hg_pdWnQiZ0-sKjKMdX/s1600/2011-07-262.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAap_FTy4lAhtQDaWZGfxu5d_rZYKHuIUj1dVqBQi24s1fXH4PbVI0aBMFUvni-RLdNLsF_eeZ87aaSRLdSMJiKB4_2fHLo03fry_YpkmnM89F-TVEMnrtdyTC0hg_pdWnQiZ0-sKjKMdX/s640/2011-07-262.jpg" width="640" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">We also went and toured the Biltmore. I have wanted to see this place ever since the movie <em>Richie Rich</em> was filmed there. Let's just say I have found my summer home, but don't fret, visitors are welcome.</span> <br />

This is WAY overdue. It's embarassing how much I've neglected this blog. </span><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I don't even know where to start, it's been so long. I have folders of pictures on my desktop in a folder called "Need to Blog". </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I think the oldest are from my brother's graduation. Here they are.....I'm counting them as my graduation photos because I was so obese in mine I burned them all. Plus, I partied that night like it was <em>my</em> graduation! Here are the before pictures...</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/sD7rs7QPYrhQmmLUyunqeYj32T-wydR8oX7QILjp8ug?feat=directlink">https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/sD7rs7QPYrhQmmLUyunqeYj32T-wydR8oX7QILjp8ug?feat=directlink</a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">I've blogged about him in the past and some of his reporting work he's done. Well, since I've neglected the blog for so long, I can now report that he has a job. Yes. Within a month of him graduating, he got his dream job. Lucky duck. Watching his first newcast, I cried I was so happy for him. Crazy how things happen and watching him on TV. Enough already, here's the little bro....</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">My dad once referred to my brother as "The Great Communicator". This was said in the most sarcastic voice. If there was a sarcastic font, it'd be used now. Not to get off on a tangent, but they should create a sarcastic font to go right beside the <em>italics </em>icon. Maybe that will be my million dollar idea and I'll no longer have to set an alarm, pack a lunch and sit at a desk from 8AM-5PM. Just let me dream. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Focus. Back to Austin. His phone is <em>always </em>on silent, he rarely answers and responds to texts after you've found your answer or his girlfriend responded. Needless to say, he's not exactly the greatest communicator when it comes to his family, but apparently he doesn't hesitate to put all of his communication skills into one basket - his school projects. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">In a previous blog post, I mentioned him being </span><a href="http://overservedandundertall.blogspot.com/2011/03/modest-as-mouse.html"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">modest as a mouse</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">, receiving a letter from his school about winning the <em>Outstanding Senior in Broadcast Journalism</em> award. Not only did he win this award, but they also presented him with the <em>Best Sports News Package of the Year at USM</em> award. Last weekend, he won 1st and 3rd place for the Mississippi Associated Press Awards. His resume is stacked full of awards, honors and experience. He really likes to downplay his smarts, but he's kicked some booty and deserves a shout out. Check out this <a href="http://hattiesburg.wdam.com/news/schools/usm-broadcast-journalism-students-sweep-mississippi-associated-press-awards/44493">article</a> that mentions all of his recent awards. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Here's to you little brother! Congrats on graduation and may the realization of how much the real world stinks and the realization of college was the life not hit you as hard as it hit me. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I wouldn't know what it's like to be presented with an award, much less, to not have to desperately think of something to put in my Awards and Activities section of my resume. I'm sure it comes as a surprise to all of you, but I'm slightly jealous. Just slightly. I'll stick to my theory and keep telling myself it's ok because I got the looks and he got the smarts. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">In all seriousness, Austin, I'm so proud of you and know you have the talent to succeed in any job you pursue. I love you and wish you the best. I leave you with these words of advice:</span></div><blockquote><blockquote><div style="border: currentColor; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">"Find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life."</span></div></blockquote></blockquote><div class="separator" style="border: currentColor; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn2F3YM2g7PZ4o7wo__6BgNyGMflbG-OPRyu2A6iOVDZHMcN80m_vGR8SlODsDYMBWewO8wjA1M1VVORFVjb23knUJhAwqP_zc4qewOce8RufQ8OKSEGBPy30Ur69k5U0m0L8d4n-CaHoE/s1600/77104_494112245756_625775756_7084985_2217428_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" j8="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn2F3YM2g7PZ4o7wo__6BgNyGMflbG-OPRyu2A6iOVDZHMcN80m_vGR8SlODsDYMBWewO8wjA1M1VVORFVjb23knUJhAwqP_zc4qewOce8RufQ8OKSEGBPy30Ur69k5U0m0L8d4n-CaHoE/s320/77104_494112245756_625775756_7084985_2217428_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Leighannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01402971898069836140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2235328753602741492.post-9476932625592393762011-06-23T20:19:00.000-05:002011-06-23T20:19:13.856-05:00Summer Vacation<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Yes, I'm alive. It was handsdown, one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. I'd say it made it in the top five - no, top three. Don't ask me what the other two are, I'm just assuming there are others out there. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I've never been one who liked people telling me what to do - that actually makes me do the opposite. But, in this rare instance, I was <em>begging</em> my parents to tell me what to do. I've never wanted them to be before, now I do and they say it's my decision. Really?!? We prayed about it, but I really just hoped God would drop a boulder in front of me with a post-it that said "stay" or "go". Unfortunately, this never happened, so the ball was in my court. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I have become so close with some of my current co-workers. They have taken me under their wing and become my Nashville family. They are some of the most amazing, thoughtful, caring and people I've met and I thank God everyday for bringing them into my life. We have learned, laughed and cried together. This is what made this decision so hard. Ultimately, I decided I can't let these three people be the reason I stay in a job I'm not satisfied with. One door may be closing and another opening, but those people brought into my life - no matter what side of the door they're on - will never be forgotten. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Ok. Down to the nitty gritty - I'll be working for a company based out of Memphis. No, I will not be moving. I'll be their Account Coordinator for one of their major accounts headquartered here in Nashville. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I can't help but wonder if I made the right decision, but I can't live with regrets so I just have to go for it. I never know where life may take me, the unknown is what scares the daylights out of me, but in the end, I know it will all work out. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I am extremely fortunate that I had to make a decision between two jobs, rather than be without one, but I am emotionally exhausted! This roller coaster/seesaw ride has just about done me in. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div><span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Moving forward, in the next couple of weeks I'll be in Memphis for training (where I'll be able to see my dear friend </span><a href="http://www.homemade-happiness.com/"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Lenzi</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"> and her family - so excited!). I'll be there for two weeks of training and the weekend in between I'll be traveling to Mississippi for my brother's college graduation. I can't believe he's graduating and going into the real world. This makes me feel old. Anyways, I just wanted to warm you I may be absent for a while, but will try and continue posting in the midst of the new, exciting yet scary changes I've made in this overserved life of mine. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">I miss the days when my biggest decision was what I wanted to drink that night at the bar. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3008/3705832867_06f71e8383.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Cheers to new beginnings! </span></div><br />

Well, let's just say the name caught on and here's our weekend re-cap. </span></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">On Friday, the weekend began at </span><a href="http://www.bigrivergrille.com/"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Big River</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"> for dinner and then we headed to the </span><a href="http://www.thebigbangbar.com/tn/nashville"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Big Bang</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"> (dueling piano bar). Apparently, our motto for the night was go big or go home with all of the "bigs". Matt's mom thought about paying someone off the street to act like her, sit down at the table and then she'd really walk in.....would've been a hoot, but she opted out of that for the first time meeting the parents. The boys tried a fleet of beers, the girls opted for girly drinks and we all stuffed our bellies while getting to know everybody. </span></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">On our walk back to the car we saw these two characters dancing on the street advertising for Big Bang (the bar sells T-shirts that say "Bang This" on the front and their logo on the back). You can't help but die laughing and wonder they're for real.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/upnJN0lHuKA" width="425"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Saturday, we had family time and did our own thing until the afternoon when we all headed to </span><a href="http://www.arringtonvineyards.com/"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Arrington Vineyards</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"> for Music in the Vines. My family time consisted of breakfast, driving around looking at houses and fighting over the bathroom to get dressed. Once we all got dressed, we headed to Arrington and were thankful for the perfect weather and good company. We brought picnic with us for dinner and I wish I'd taken a picture of the spread because it was delicious! Our families got in some good quality bonding time at the picnic table, while Matt and I sat on the blanket and watched realizing how blessed we are to have amazing families that get along and have a good time!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisx8zFlO9w6mJIhZ1LfTywiGFXObZZ5jzkPSEzC37gHKu2DmytA08iEFdN_3_03Fk5QSs3xQEnwwoVH80gjzEp7RnP2cQmeer8soUW4f_KjC3JI6UdXfjbCIvyCSZc_Ox2ireAKzdjGuOj/s1600/2011-05-01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="140px" j8="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisx8zFlO9w6mJIhZ1LfTywiGFXObZZ5jzkPSEzC37gHKu2DmytA08iEFdN_3_03Fk5QSs3xQEnwwoVH80gjzEp7RnP2cQmeer8soUW4f_KjC3JI6UdXfjbCIvyCSZc_Ox2ireAKzdjGuOj/s640/2011-05-01.jpg" width="640px" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">As the night went on, we told stories about our childhood curiosity that led to many groundings and the one time Matt got in trouble (yes, he claims he only got in trouble one time - liar, liar pants on fire). We laughing and enjoyed several bottles of wine. Side note: I collect corks and on our way into the wine tasting we saw several bottles by the garbage can with corks in them. Well, what do you think we did? That's right I grabbed ever cork I saw! Matt's mom wanted to go to others picnicking and say there was a recall on the corks and we need to take them for their safety - she is a riot! We decided that might cause a state of emergency at the vineyard. Instead, Matt sweet talked the lady working the wine tasting into giving me an entire bag full of corks they had in the back. </span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Sunday morning we woke up to discover that the Easter Bunny came for a visit. Once again, I wish I'd taken a picture of all the Easter baskets lined up - Emily (roommate), mine, Matt, Austin and Andy (roommate). The Easter Bunny (aka Mary Bess) out-did herself and made baskets for all of us! We met Matt's family at church where we were curious what our parents reactions would be since our church is rather contemporary. My mom leaned over to me when the preacher came out and I thought she said, "He looks like Rod Stewart," but she actually said, "He looks like a rockstar." Either way, that gives you some insight. All that matters is it gets us to church and we pay attention! </span></div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">After church, we headed to </span><a href="http://www.boscosbeer.com/"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Bosco's</span></a><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"> for brunch. While the "kids" discussed what drink to order - mimosa or bloody mary, the parents looked over the food on the menu.....pretty typical for this gang! After saying our goodbyes to Matt's family, we then headed home for a very productive afternoon of naps - Austin in the bed, me on one couch, mom on the other couch and dad in the chair. That night, Matt came over and we had jambalaya while introducing my parents to the show <em>Swamp People. </em>Matt claims they're my kin. I don't know who I'd rather claim to be kin to - Richard Simmons or Swamp People. </span></div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Matt's mom said she feels like she's known my parents her whole life. I believe our parents are incredibly similar, which makes this relationship that better! All in all, everyone got along, we laughed a lot and enjoyed the company and story telling. The weekend went by entirely way too fast, but the older I get, the more I cherish weekends like this. </span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

No, I wasn't watching the news, history in the making or collecting the facts. I was on facebook and twitter collecting my favorite comments. In present day times, I'd rather get my news from status updates and twitter feeds. It's much happier. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I thought I'd share my top ten - in no particular order because I can't choose a favorite:</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*It's going to be quite a shock when Bin Laden is greeted in his after life by 40 Virginians. He probably should have read that part twice.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*Obama's speech translated: me, me, me, me, me.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*Autopsy report confirms that Toby Keith's boot was, in fact, squarely lodged in Bin Laden's rectum. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*Hey Osama! I hope your 40 virgins all have wieners.</span></div><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"></span><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*I bet Osama Bin Laden accidentally hit the "Add your location" button during his last tweet.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*Calling in sick because you lost your voice chanting USA at the bar on a Sunday.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*What didn't kill America made us stronger, and whoever killed bin Laden is about to make me wasted. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">*Tonight, President Obama will announce that Clint Eastwood shot Osama Bin Laden.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div><span style="font-size: large;"><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Unfortunately, a bit too crazy. We've evacuated to the basement once a week for the past month. I haven't been as big a news junkie as I usually am, but I haven't been able to avoid the devestation of the recent tornadoes in Alabama and its surrounding states. Please keep our fellow neighboring state, friends, family and rivals in your thoughts and prayers. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

It has a kitchenette, bathroom, deck and heated matress/bed. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to sleep in a tipi for a weekend! Matt's family has several cabins that they rent out and this happens to be one of them. </span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"><a href="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/tipi.php">Totally Legit Tipi</a></span></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/image/Tipi/tn_tipidoor.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/image/Tipi/tn_tipidoor.jpg" width="139" /></a> <a href="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/image/Tipi/tn_tipideck.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/image/Tipi/tn_tipideck.jpg" width="139" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"> <strong><strong><strong><span class="fsx03"><span class="fsx03"><u><img height="139" src="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/image/Tipi/tn_tipibed.jpg" width="185" /></u> <u><img height="139" src="http://www.lakeedenevents.com/image/Tipi/tn_tipibelow.jpg" width="185" /></u></span></span></strong></strong></strong></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I looked up our Indian names online, but have yet to find one I<em> really</em> like and approve of. Also, I bought us Indian headdresses so we can take our Christmas card photo and make things interesting! Next thing on my shopping list - face paint. I'm taking this whole Indian thing to the extreme, but who can say they stayed in a tipi besides LP?!?!</span> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;"></span> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">Anyways, for the weekend of May 27-30, we'll be playing Indians - there will be no cowboys.</span></div>Leighannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01402971898069836140noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2235328753602741492.post-47153356069319812352011-04-25T08:39:00.000-05:002011-04-25T08:39:53.461-05:00Frat Hard, Pledge Harder - Future Frat Boy<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWBBooCai41vUTbwbQEuhFV8JI0o9HB1JNlSnbNqkHYXV2RQ5ppP11l7Q8qr-ai1rBek3SPB1_WmyN7em0_b0KKQzBo2ZsPtb6QsiLm8jzhdYc-43dCWlrXw7WKdHlqkKFquTuD0dl9xVi/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" i8="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWBBooCai41vUTbwbQEuhFV8JI0o9HB1JNlSnbNqkHYXV2RQ5ppP11l7Q8qr-ai1rBek3SPB1_WmyN7em0_b0KKQzBo2ZsPtb6QsiLm8jzhdYc-43dCWlrXw7WKdHlqkKFquTuD0dl9xVi/s320/photo.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">For some people this picture might make them want to call Child Protective Services, but for me - it makes me love LSU that much more and want to scream L-S-U!!!</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">1. Turkeys also lay eggs, but you aren’t likely to find them in a grocery store</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">2. The average hen lays 250 to 270 eggs a year</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;"></span><span style="font-size: xx-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: xx-small;"><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">3. The color of an egg yolk is determined by hen’s diet</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
<div style="border: currentColor; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">4. An analysis of another dinosaur egg nest helped solve the age-old riddle of which came first</span></span></span></div><div style="border: currentColor; text-align: left;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.vectorstock.com/assets/preview/53620/easter-egg-tree-vector.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.vectorstock.com/assets/preview/53620/easter-egg-tree-vector.jpg" width="304" /></a></div><div style="border: currentColor; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">I hope everyone has a Good Friday whether you're at home or work (like me). My family is on the road and headed this way to Nashville - mom, dad and brother! I have a lot planned and can't wait.....c'mon 4:30PM! Matt's family is coming too and, like my mom says, we're having a Meet The Fockers weekend. </span><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">I hope everyone has a eggstraordinary Easter!</span></div><br />

Probably, because I was too busy eating and drinking. Therefore, I'm going to navigate you to Lenzi's blog for more in depth pictures. But until then, I'm going to give you some random tidbits from the weekend: </span></div><ul><li><div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">We had some of the most AMAZING food - I had shrimp and grits twice.....would've continued to order them had I not been embarrassed </span></div></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">The trolley transportation was not adequate...even though I love public transportation, I was disappointed </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Be thankful for having a place to rest your head and furniture you don't have to re-arrange just to find plugs to dry your hair </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Speaking of furniture, don't let Lenzi move yours...just kidding </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hot praline samples get me everytime </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I walk at about 1/8 of the speed I usually do while wearing heels </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Everyone MUST do the carraige ride when visiting Charleston </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Erin and I found our homes with a joint courtyard so I will be able to raise her children, right there, in the same neighborhood </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Although we opted out, Joe Pasta will always be a code word for "happy" </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I'm slightly freaked out by the fact that we were back to the hotel by midnight every night - scary, I know - we might finally be growing up. Doubtful. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Not only were we back at a reasonable hour, but the hangover count was zero - including myself </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">I will always cherish the memories I had with these ladies and</span> <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">look forward to creating more</span> </li>
</ul><div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">For now, here are some pictures from the weekend. It's a four bedroom cabin on a lake, without a TV, and is incredibly peaceful. We got in late Friday night, so we pretty much chatted for an hour with his parents and sister and then off to bed we went. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">On Saturday, they decided to prank me. The whole family played along that we were going to a white linen table cloth restaurant for brunch. I was panicked because I was told we were going to ride four-wheelers and be at the cabin. What would any girl pack for that - jeans and t-shirts. Luckily, I packed a cute scarf, jacket and boots. Oh no, joke's on me - it was a hole-in-the-wall convenient store breakfast place. On the wall next to me were fishing hooks and different kinds of bait. You get my drift. I played along nicely so I didn't look like too much of a fool. The breakfast was incredible, but the white linen was lacking. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">The rest of the day/night we rode four-wheelers, grilled out, played board games, had some brewskies and hung out. I should have never done crunches prior to that weekend because I spent the whole time cracking up. While riding four-wheelers, Matt captured this picture - I promise it's not a Microsoft desktop background, but it's so good it looks like one. </span></div><br />

Come to find out later, it was where horseback riders tie their horses up when they take a break to rest on the bench. Anyways, Angela and I decided to hang upside down and Matt captured how attractive we are when we're hung upside down. Later on, Matt's mom, Charmie, decided to hop on the four-wheeler with Angela and she was fearless!</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

Now the true question is - Charleston, are you ready for this?</span></div></div>Leighannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01402971898069836140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2235328753602741492.post-54472605892149017632011-03-29T08:06:00.000-05:002011-03-29T08:06:30.864-05:00For The Win<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2n0mSUuz3VqlQYah3tIoAYYdgRk8qM-_uELxljx0u36QhAlRKHj-hcmTGhYl67Oza7ef5Q-h4wu6myYo_ZQzPGN0s97sbyWMaVSxODUx0j_e4CvPpMLJkDgEzT_pBH1evLRqYcvqSaKPx/s1600/2011-03-261.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2n0mSUuz3VqlQYah3tIoAYYdgRk8qM-_uELxljx0u36QhAlRKHj-hcmTGhYl67Oza7ef5Q-h4wu6myYo_ZQzPGN0s97sbyWMaVSxODUx0j_e4CvPpMLJkDgEzT_pBH1evLRqYcvqSaKPx/s320/2011-03-261.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">All I do is win, win, win! That's right ladies and gentlemen - I won the Birdhouse Thing (between Matt and I)! My birdhouse went for $45 and his $35. I even had him take pictures so I could prove it. Not only were the birhouses incredible, but so was t</span><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">he food and drinks! Praline chicken tenders - need I say more? It was so much fun looking at other birdhouses and hearing them auction things off. While I spent my time at the bar - "talking to my friends that were bartenders", not for refills - Matt was stalking his birdhouse and pointing out to people passing by how he really liked that birdhouse (of course his). </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">These are some of the different ones we saw...</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgYvj9Dl5p19c2X3x1txpcXmgOlB_3PETJKilwK0SjaX6D26ehvAvbc0a12uRBJCpVNaDrMS2H2chHqe1YW2zMge14sLzoJTVN85p2o_fqCUZ-7c3um1mabcNk0sRl37o1O-oFrQp2vBlO/s1600/2011-03-262.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="142" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgYvj9Dl5p19c2X3x1txpcXmgOlB_3PETJKilwK0SjaX6D26ehvAvbc0a12uRBJCpVNaDrMS2H2chHqe1YW2zMge14sLzoJTVN85p2o_fqCUZ-7c3um1mabcNk0sRl37o1O-oFrQp2vBlO/s640/2011-03-262.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">I LOVED the Cash one - it was on an old record. The white one is made out of paper and has a bunch of cool swirls, but the camera didn't capture it as well. We didn't get a picture of one that was stained glass and amazing - needless to say, it was one that went for $150.</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS; font-size: large;">It was a great fundraising event and we were so glad to be a part of it. As soon as Matt walked in he said we're definitely doing this next year. Also, we found out that you can build your own birdhouse and we're totally doing that next year. We've already begun brainstorming - watch out Nashville!</span></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div>Leighannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01402971898069836140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2235328753602741492.post-3980651715209035422011-03-26T15:01:00.000-05:002011-03-26T15:01:49.320-05:00Ten, Four or One<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">Let me start off by saying, Matt gave me the option of a ten, four or one mile hike. Due to the fact I've been feeling fat (partially due to the fact that I'm ghostly white), I responded with ten mile hike. His response, " No, pick four or one." Why give me the option of ten if you had already nixed that idea?!?! Boys! </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">We ended up doing the four mile hike and it was awesome! It was around Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, TN. The flowers were starting to bloom and as you hiked, you could see the landscape change. We stopped half way through and had lunch on a rock overlooking the lake. I can't wait to do it again! </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">The best part of the whole hike was this cross on the beach. It was made out of wood and was perfectly placed. It was one of those moments when you stop and realize God is always there. While Matt was taking pictures, I found a rock to sit on and just counted my blessings.</span> </div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: large;">What a great day! Looking forward to our next hike and what we might find along the way! </span></div>Leighannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01402971898069836140noreply@blogger.com1
